Pilot "TrustEd” System for Cross-Agency Data Sharing

Appropriate sharing of data across agencies can support research and inform decisions that impact student learning. For example, data on teacher participation in pre-service and in-service professional development programs combined with data on student outcomes linked to teachers of record can help determine which programs are most effective. Movement of student records from early childhood service agencies to K-12 to higher education informs instructional decisions for individual learners. However, the privacy implications of sharing data across agencies must also be addressed. This project will pilot a system for cross agency data sharing that uses a dual/multi-database architecture and "trust broker” for the exchange of information across agencies / organizations.
