TSDL: Teacher Student Data Link Project
Funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and conducted by the Center for Educational
Leadership and Technology (CELT) with guidance and dissemination support from the Data Quality Campaign (DQC)

Consolidation of Educator Data Systems

For high-stakes usage of linked teacher and student data, the linked data must be very accurate and teachers must have a high degree of confidence in its quality. This project focuses on integrating data across functions, with staff demographics linked to information about licensure, certification, educator preparation programs, participation in professional development activities, degrees completed, and years of experience by job responsibility. The priorities for this project are (1) the integration of licensure systems with professional development "shoe box” system to eliminate reentry, and (2) development and proposal of a model for common/statewide staff evaluation. This system will support educators' online access for professional development "shoe box” and recertification information. The integrated system will support the process for tracking highly qualified teachers and provide up-to-date and accurate educator data to the Arkansas Department of Education data warehouse and operational systems for linking of teacher and student data.
